Since 1980, The Bookshelf has been providing new and used books to avid readers. At our bookstore you’ll find a friendly staff which many have dubbed, the “Bookshelf Ladies”, who are book mind readers, using their literary knowledge to help pick out a book you’ll love, just by learning about the last one you’ve read and enjoyed.

With nearly 100,000 used books on two floors, we specialize in hard to find and out of print works from every genre, as well as titles from recent best selling authors. Most books are shelved by author, making it easy to locate the books you seek. Find mysteries, thrillers, westerns, general fiction, classics, science fiction, young readers and non-fiction on the first floor. Our christian and contemporary romances, paranormal and historical romances along with current series (harlequin, love inspired, etc) complete the first floor.

Upstairs you will encounter a large selection of craft and cookbooks, business, travel, new age, pets, games, religious and biographies, find the teens, tweens, and the home schooling section. Here you also will discover the largest selection of early romances in southeastern Indiana. We have Harlequin; Romance, Presents, SuperRomance, Americans, Silhouette; Specials, Intimate Moments, Desires, Intrigues, Loveswepts, Candlelights, Regencies, Gothics just to name a few. It is really a “maze”ing experience.

We have thousands of titles in our new book inventory for all ages, and deliver the most sought after bestsellers every Tuesday, but, children’s books are our favorite hand sell items. (The Bookshelf Ladies are all Grammas).

Even with our extensive stock, we can’t have every title, but we have access to over 1,000,000 titles in just 1-3 days. Pre-order that anticipated title from your favorite author, and it will be waiting for you on it’s release date.
